See the small wins with your rescue dog
The Rescue Dog Trust Log is a free 12-page printable for the first days, weeks and months with a dog who needs time. A short guide to what's normal, then simple logs for the small wins, so you can see progress on the days it feels like there isn't any.

Lily's story
Lily had spent most of her first year locked in a kennel. When she came home with me she wasn't house-trained, and a raised voice or a step toward her sent her cowering. The usual ways of teaching a dog didn't work, because anything that felt like "no" made her shrink.
What worked was time and patience. Today she's ten and a half, house-trained, and her crate is her favorite place. This log is what I wish I'd had that first year: a place to write down the small wins, so I could see we were getting somewhere.
